Worship art ministries enable people to experience the presence of God through congregational singing and the inspiration of choral and instrumental music. Participants in the choral, handbell, and praise band will find opportunities for spiritual growth, Christian fellowship, and the development of their musical skills. Participation is open to all who are willing to invest their time and talents in this ministry.
The Chancel Choir is the primary vocal choir for traditional worship providing musical leadership at the Traditional service each Sunday. Our choir sings a wide variety of sacred choral anthems and also presents special music for Advent/Christmas and Holy Week/Easter. Singers of all ages and capabilities are welcome to come make a joyful noise!

The Praise Band provides music leadership at our Blended Service every Sunday. This group of musicians and singers plays mostly contemporary Christian music as well as well-known hymns in a more contemporary style. We are always looking for new people to come and share their gift of singing or playing musical instruments such as piano, guitar, bass, and drums.

The Handbell Choir consists of a group of ringers who ring 4 octaves of handbells. These ringers are part of Saint Cloud FUMC music ministry bringing joy with their melodious music during regular worship and special services throughout the year. Experience reading music and ringing handbells is helpful but not required to join us!

I’m Lou Murray, Choir Director at the Traditional Service at First UMC. Over my decades of experience, I’ve played and composed virtually all styles of music, but my real joy is in leading music for worship. My goal is always to make the music inspiring and meaningful. We welcome guest performers and often have vocal and instrumental soloists. Currently, we are also doing outreach performances for community groups and events. Scott is married to Aimee and lives in Kissimmee. Scott is the Theater Director at Saint Cloud Middle School and has previously served as the Music Director at First United Methodist Church in Kissimmee.
