United Methodist Women

“The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.” (The Book of Discipline 2008,  ¶356.3)

What do United Methodist Women do?

Members of United Methodist Women are active in their church and the world around them in all kinds of ways. You’ll find members serving, teaching, sharing and advocating for others all over the world. United Methodist Women members are committed to spiritual growth, giving to mission, social justice and living out their faith. They meet regularly for prayer, study, social action and mission engagement, they also get together just to have fun. Many United Methodist Women members take on leadership roles at one time or another. Members might find themselves serving on behalf of the organization at local, district, conference, jurisdictional or national levels at some point in their lives.

What does membership mean?

It means joining a global community of women –nearly 800,000 strong– who are committed to the same purpose and have a passion to change the world around them. Any woman who commits herself to the Purpose of United Methodist Women and to engage in mission, study, personal growth and social action can join. You don’t have to be a United Methodist or meet an age requirement to be a member.

How do I join?

It’s easy to become a member of United Methodist Women; just talk to someone you know who is already a member of the organization.

Our Local Unit

The Saint Cloud unit of United Methodist Women meets for General Meetings and Circle meetings which encompass mission education, spiritual growth, and social action with a continuing focus on the needs of women, children and youth. We also support by individual pledges and gifts, sometimes supplemented by fund-raising activities to support world-wide ministries.

Our General Meetings are held in the Family Life Center on the 2nd Thursday, four months of the year. Small group circles meet monthly on the first Thursday of each month from September through May. Announcements for locations and times appear on the Sunday bulletin.
